Canastota N/C Corporation
R. Gene Knox, the founder of Canastota N/C Corporation, was a Korean War veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He entered college under the GI Bill, where he earned a degree in Engineering. He was employed in the machining industry for many years, gathering experience and a working knowledge of projects from conception through production. In 1972, Gene launched his own company in a building encompassing only 5,000 square feet. He personally designed and built much of the original equipment.
Martin Knox, one of Gene’s sons, joined the firm after graduating from Clarkson University in 1980. Since Gene’s passing in 1998, Marty has taken his father’s place as President and head of Canastota N/C Corporation.
Originally employing only a handful of workers, over the last four decades the company has grown to over 35,000 square feet with approximately 40 full-time employees. Most of the tooling and machine maintenance is performed in-house.
Some of the products manufactured include fluid power manifolds, motor housings, hydraulic cylinders and valves, numerous automotive components, and agricultural and turf care items, along with other subassemblies.
In addition, Canastota N/C Corporation is ISO 9001-2008 certified.
The corporation has well earned its reputation with its customers through honesty and integrity, with emphasis placed upon consistent high quality, dedication toward reliability, and on-time deliveries at competitive prices.
