Canastota N/C is looking to fill a full time CNC Lathe and CNC Mill operator positions for 1st and 2nd shift. Candidates that have CNC Lathe and/or Mill experience are preferred. We will also train candidates to operate the CNC Lathes and Mills. Also Hiring for Material Handler. 

 

Responsibilities: will consist of, and my not be limited to:

• Carry out production, inspection, and machine operation duties, using precision measuring devices and procedures.
• Set up and run machinery accurately and efficiently, utilizing precision measuring devices to perform inspections (and documentation) on the accuracy of their work and to adjust tooling offsets and replace tools when needed.
• Perform appropriate duties as assigned by management.
• Maintain a safe and clean workspace.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations.
• Team-oriented, self-directed, reliable, and punctual

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School or Equivalent is preferred.
• Two Years of Operating CNC Equipment is preferred.
• Previous experience with Mazak Mazatrol software is preferred.
• Applicants must possess mathematical and mechanical aptitude and the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to comprehend work instructions, and quality documents.
• Must be able to read and write English well enough to understand process instructions, work orders, and other paperwork.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds waist high.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and withstand twisting and turning of your body.

 

1st shift hours are Monday thru Friday; 7:00am-3:30pm; Overtime may be required during the week or Saturdays. 2nd shift hours are Monday thru Friday; 3:30pm-2:00am; Overtime is included in the shift hours and may be reduced as required.

 

Pay range: $18.00-$30.00 per hour DOE (depending on experience)

Forklift Operator / Material Handler

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator / Material Handler to join our team. This position is responsible for moving raw materials and finished products throughout our facility while maintaining an efficient, safe, and organized work environment.

In addition to forklift operation, this position includes material handling, saw operation, general shop housekeeping, scrap management, and occasional customer deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to move materials and products throughout the facility.

• Unload incoming materials and merchandise and place them in designated storage areas.

• Transport raw materials to production workstations as needed.

• Perform daily forklift inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.

• Maintain general housekeeping throughout the shop, including emptying trash containers.

• Empty steel and aluminum turning receptacles and ensure scrap materials remain properly sorted by metal type.

• Operate band-saws and cold saws to cut material and parts to specification.

• Use calipers and other measuring equipment to verify parts meet required specifications.

• Make customer deliveries using the company’s International 4200 flatbed truck.

• Follow all company policies, procedures, and applicable safety guidelines.

• Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.

• Assist with additional shop and material-handling duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous forklift operating experience required.

• Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.

• Ability to safely operate industrial equipment.

• Experience with band-saws, cold saws, calipers, or similar equipment is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Dependable with a strong work ethic and commitment to workplace safety.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.

• Ability to perform the physical duties associated with material handling and general shop work.
